Cauterization (burning treatment)

In cauterization procedure, cervical lesion is burnt and killed using heat obtained by electric current provided from the tip of a pen-shaped probe. The procedure takes about 5-6 minutes.

It is a painless procedure. It usually doesn’t require anesthesia.

Cauterization is not applied to women who haven’t given birth because it causes narrowing of the cervix.
