Dentures are artificial teeth prepared in place of the lost teeth due to various reasons. Dentures protect both the aesthetic appearance of the patient and the functions of the teeth such as chewing and speaking.

Types of dentures are:

• Fixed Dentures: Bonded dentures that cannot be removed by the patient.
• Removable Dentures: Dentures that can be placed and removed by the patient at any time.
• Total Dentures: Dentures that can be applied to mouths missing all teeth.
• Partial Dentures: Dentures that can be applied to partially edentulous mouth. Clipping is achieved by pins and hooks put on the teeth.
