In the first step of the examination, a radioactive substance is administered to the body by intravenous injection. Then, it is periodically checked in which area of the skeleton the radioactive substance has become concentrated. Any inflammation identified in the bone may be associated with a tumor as well as other causes, such as trauma, infection, etc.
