Rheumatic Diseases

Rheumatism is a painful disease that affect our tissues and organs allowing us to do all the movements related to our daily life, including joints in particular, and muscles, tendons, bones , joints, ligaments and spine.

Rheumatic are basically divided into two groups which are inflammatory rheumatic and degenerative rheumatic diseases.

Inflammatory Rheumatic Diseases
Inflammatory rheumatism can be seen at any age and causes pain, swelling, redness and limitation of movement in the joints. Rheumatoid Arthritis is the most important inflammatory rheumatism and usually begins in the finger and toe joints in hands and feet, gradually spreads to other joints and makes daily life difficult. Another important inflammatory rheumatism is Ankylosing Spondylitis. Its initial symptoms are similar to a herniated disc and in subsequent years, it causes arthritis of the spine in the lower back-neck region.

Drug treatments are planned during early stages of the diseases. After acute symptoms and symptoms such as pain, swelling are brought under control, physical therapy and rehabilitation should be started.

Degenerative Rheumatic Diseases
Its incidence is high. It is the most common joint disease among middle aged and elderly patients, known as arthritis. Physical therapy and rehabilitation is more important than drugs. Simple painkillers can be used to relieve pain.
