Head and neck cancers

The most important factor in head and neck cancers is long-term smoking and alcohol consumption. Depending on the area where the cancer has settled, there are signs of swelling in the neck, change of voice, growth on the lip, bleeding in the mouth/ nose/ throat, discoloration of the skin, difficulty swallowing and constant ear pain.

Throat cancer, back of the nose cancer, vocal wire cancer, tonsil cancer and upper oesophageal cancer are the most common types of cancer in head and neck cancers.

Treatment varies according to the region, type, and stage of the disease. Surgical, chemotherapy and radiotherapy methods can be used separately or together in the treatment.
